“I must express my pessimism when I saw Ycee as the featured artiste. He’s actually a very good rapper; but he’s not someone I see making a good song with Falz. Falz is the creative clown, he’s the sarcastic guy. But on first listen, I had to throw my initial doubts in the trash bin.
The song, which comes with a video, is a hilarious one bordering on girls and the extremely funny behaviors they come up with. It is a beautiful one, enhanced by the complementary flows between the Bahd guy and the Jagaban’s crooner. The hook, is short and hits the point home.
Falz sings, “Give me something light, something light.” Ycee, in the same vein takes this up making the hook singular and central-themed.
But, in his attempt to be hilarious, Ycee kicks the ball too hard. He throws subtle insults, instead of the soft jabs Falz accustoms the song to. This doesn’t come as a surprise as he is known to always take it hardcore, and hardcore rappers are known to always go hard.
I enjoyed the video, totally in line with the song. I’m grateful to Falz for his ability to avoid disappointing us; his fans.”
