A good artiste is defined by his ability to remain consistent in spite of new developments in the musical world; in spite of evolving styles and instrumentals, and improving with the year. Sarkodie is one of the very few artistes who falls in this category. In his dexterity and skill, he has teamed up with Nigerian dancehall maestro, Patoranking on his latest track, So Many Girls.

The track, produced by MonisBeats, begins with a solemn saxophone. Then Sarkodie does what he does best: spit tight flows. Even though he spoke his language in certain lines which most Nigerians don’t understand; this doesn’t mar the creativity of the bars. Also, his lyrics are in line with the ideology of the song. He raps like a professional that he is; staying tight but reasonable.

Patoranking takes the hook with the brilliance attached to him. In the second verse, he delivers his lyrics also in accordance to what the song is about; he falling in love with a girl in spite of the great number of them he had seen.

The creativity present in the song is heightened by the intelligence of the producer. Asides the saxophone he embeds in the song, the mixing also has a class of finesse attached to it.

There isn’t the familiar noise we hear in most of our local songs. The flow of idea in the song is also one quality which makes the song beautiful. Both artistes respects the idea to the last bit.
Big ups to Sarkodie on this one.
This shows he’s still in the game, after so many years.
