Leke Lee, an unsigned Nigerian act has teamed up with YBNL ace, Davo Lee and LRR youngster, Ola Dips. A song delivered fully in Yoruba, this song aptly describes and explains the life of every guy hustling in the streets. Every youth in the street can relate to the prayers embedded in the song.
Ola Dips took the first verse, much to my dissatisfaction. Of the trio, his verse holds more creativity and rhymes. He should have taken the last verse. And that, puts the song arrangement at faulty.
Asides the hook, Leke lee totally flopped on the song. His rhymes were sloppy and he tried too hard to sound like he was from the street. Being the owner of the song, he performed way below my expectations.
Davo Lee wasn’t so exceptional on the song. Just like he had done on Pepper Dem Gang by Olamide, he stuck to his style and flow. This song forces us to believe he isn’t a dynamic rapper as we earlier thought.
I have to give credit to the producer, God’s own. The song, voice effects and even the instrumental is soothing. Towards the end of the song, he plays the keyboard which gives the song a foreign feel. That was beautiful.
All in all, the song is good for starters.
